Legal Research Sites Take on Google!
Sweeping Changes in Store for Westlaw, LexisNexis
Big changes are coming to powerhouse legal research sites Westlaw and LexisNexis.
Ashlee Vance at the New York Times reports that in effort to keep up with the likes of web services offered by Google and Microsoft, Westlaw and LexisNexis will undergo some modifications in order to make it easier and faster for lawyers to search for the documents they need.
The highlights:
- Better-looking interfaces
- More relevant search results
- New tools for document sharing
What won't change are the fees.
Westlaw and LexisNexis will still charge lawyers and researchers to go online to find court cases and other legal documents.
